The Environment Agency is a leading public body for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales. The EA works with nuclear sites and the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) Nuclear Installations Inspectorate. The EA oversees how nuclear sites in the UK dispose of their radioactive waste by granting site authorisations to the operators who run them.
