Tuesday 22 December 2009Hinkley snaps for local charity
Instead of the usual school Christmas card competition, this year the communications team at Hinkley A Site threw down the gauntlet and challenged staff to come up with photographs that could be used in a site calendar for 2010.
The photos entered into the competition show Somerset at its very best, in the height of summer and the depths of winter. The pictures were judged by an independent panel including Wendy Hellowell from the site charity for the year, Ups and Downs Southwest. The calendars are now on sale at the site and all proceeds will go towards supporting the Ups and Downs Southwest charity.
Hinkley Point A site staff have already raised over £9,000 for the charity this financial year. The lastest donation from the site was for a massive £4,418 and was presented to the charity at their Christmas party by Tim Watkins, Deputy Site Director.
