This Best Practicable Environmental Options (BPEO) report covers the work conducted by Sizewell A (SZA) in determining the BPEO for its management of Fuel Element Debris (FED). This historical, operationally generated waste is stored in flooded concrete cells at SZA and is common across numerous Magnox sites, although all differ in composition. Using work done previously by other Magnox sites and Magnox South Decommissioning Strategies Organisation, SZA engaged with numerous local stakeholders and held a workshop to score the various options against set attributes.
